Where is this place?

Sungnyemun Gate is Korea’s National Treasure No. 1, and its unofficial name is Namdaemun Gate. Sungnyemun Gate is the largest castle gate stone structure with an arched entrance in the middle. There’s a column on top of a platform, raising the roof, distinguishing the upper stories and lower stories of the building.

You can take pictures outside not permit to go inside.

You can shop at the nearby Namdaemun Market.

BTS performs from iconic Seoul gate for ‘Global Citizen Live’

K-pop sensation BTS kicked off an international music festival “Global Citizen Live”with a performance of its hit song “Permission to Dance” from Sungnyemun Gate Gate, South Korea’s No. 1 national treasure. “Welcome to Seoul, Korea!” the band said in unison before starting the show. The seven members, dressed in matching tones of orange, blue and white, danced and sang on a stage set up outside the gate as colorful light beams illuminated the stone wall behind them and flashed in time with the music.
